images.jpegJanuary is Teamwork month at the Toronto District School Board. We have a great opportunity to use our excellent teamwork skills to provide outreach to survivors of the recent earthquake in Haiti. We have had a number of students take leadership in this area. Here are a few examples of what our students are doing to support these efforts:

  1. Daily spare change donations during the lunch hour (thanks to Tovah, Maddie, Eric and Jesaves, among others for helping run this activity)
  2. Hot Chocolate for Haiti – $1.00 (suggested donation) per cup of hot chocolate on sale after school in the main foyer (thanks to Mme Baltayan and Ms Greenspoon for helping organize)

  4. PJ’s for Haiti – amount of donation to be determined if students wish to wear PJ’s to school on January 27th to support Haiti outreach. Many other T.D.S.B. schools will participate in this particular initiative on January 27th.
  5. Busking for Haiti – more information to come

Student donations will go to the Red Cross at the request of student leaders and supporters. Students have been very generous in their support of Haiti Outreach and we encourage them to continue their enthusiastic support. A big thank you to parents, and also to our student leaders, student donors, teachers and other staff members. There will be an update next week about the amount of money the school raises with their support.
