Music Special: All City Ensembles for Music Students

Grade 7 and 8 music students are invited to participate in the All City Strings, Band, or Orchestra. These ensembles are made up of students from across the TDSB and work towards a huge performance in Massey Hall. This concert features all of the All City Ensembles and other musical performances. This would be a great enrichment to the music education you are receiving at St. Andrew’s. The students who have participated in the past have really enjoyed the experience.
Information about the following are included in the attachments:
- what you need to prepare for your audition
- when the auditions take place
- when the rehearsals take place
- your responsibities if you are accepted
Please inform Mr. Corbett or Ms. Wong if you are interested in participating. The deadline has been extended, so don’t fret about the November due date. But do let us know early in the new year – please leave a message in the main office for Mr. Corbett or Ms. Wong, or ask your child to let his/her music teacher know. Thanks! (416-395-3090)

I suppose if a grade 7 student just started the instrumental program at St. Andrews this year, he/she will NOT qualify for this audition as it said in the audition package, ‘Applicants must be (at least) in the SECOND year of a TDSB school instrumental program.’

That is correct, unless they have had previous experience or private lessons. Then they could apply.
