Olympic torch in our neighbourhood on Thursday
by Andrew Howard - Principal December 16th, 2009If you and your family would like to join in the celebration, please make your way over to York Mills Collegiate tomorrow afternoon. This is not a St. Andrew’s led event so if your child decides to attend, you are responsible for his/her supervision and travel plans. Go out and support our Olympic athletes as they vie for Gold in Vancouver.

In one of the previous posts, it said that a St. Andrew’s sudent would be carrying the torch; will he be carrying it there?

Hi Andrew
Can you tell me what the form is for Friday the 18th please? I hear that there aren’t going to be any lessons as such and that there will be a lot of kids away that day.
thanks in advance

One of our grade 8 students, Hussain, will be carrying the torch as part of the blind/low vision program in the TDSB. He will not be part of this afternoons celebration but will instead be part of a celebration in a different part of the city.
Friday the 18th is a regular school day with regular classes. Attendance is expected as on any other day. What teachers do in the classroom will vary based on the number of students in attendance as well as the status of their program heading into the holidays. It is important, if students are going to be absent from school, that a parent calls into the safe arrival line. Happy Holidays everyone!
